FAQ - Benefits of Membership

Do my dependants benefit?

Yes, your dependants can be considered for most of the benefits you get as a member.

Your dependants can benefit specifically from the Funeral Grant of up to €2,000 and the Specified Illness Insurance Cover Plan.

What other ways can the Society help me?

The Society is well-respected and well-connected with most of Ireland’s financial institutions and Credit Unions, so it can help in sorting out difficulties between a member and such organisations.

Educational Grants could provide helpful support.

The Society has negotiated an exclusive low-cost Specified Illness Insurance Scheme to benefit you and your dependants.

What kind of things will the Society consider a Cash Grant for?

If you are in a tight spot financially due to an unexpected problem or if your financial affairs have got on top of you and you have no other source of finance.

If you, your spouse and/or a dependent dies and this causes a financial need you cannot meet, a Funeral Grant of up to €2,000 may be available.

If you need essential legal assistance/services, the Society will consider an application from you for financial assistance.

The Society can help meet the costs of supporting retired members with nursing needs.
